Austin 70.3 Event Report

Austin 70.3 Event Report

Alamo 180 sent 6 athletes to Ironman Austin 70.3 on Sunday, October 28. This challenging event consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run. Our 70.3 training program, called Operation 70.3,  prepared our triathletes for a strong, successful finish and it earned them the right to be called an Ironman.

Alamo 180 coaches and teammates proudly went to Austin 70.3 to show our support. We cheered for and encouraged everyone out on the course, not just our athletes. And we had an absolute blast doing it! Our philosophy is that everyone needs encouragement. A Half Ironman event is no easy feat and it’s important to remind athletes that they are strong and doing a great job. We also wanted to bring a smile to their face and lift their spirits. It’s easy to go to “a dark place” and we wanted to bring them to “a happy place”. Check out our efforts below…

We also gave out “Free Hugs”. Some athletes really needed a little love. A loving hug and words of encouragement go a LONG way.
