I have a weight workout to do today. It’s noon and I haven’t done it yet. My To-Do list keeps growing. Or, am I purposely growing it?

Have you ever been faced with knowing you need to do a workout, and regardless of wanting to do it, you find reasons to avoid it? It’s like you get stuck. You’re so busy being productive, plugging away at your To-Do list, that you cannot stop.

That’s me right now. I want to attack my list and cross everything off. Here’s the thing though– I have never crossed everything off. Something always gets added. I cross one thing off, only to add two more.

Here’s the hard truth that I am still learning– we will never complete our To-Do list. Ever. It will always grow. So embrace that truth, take a break, and get in your workout.

The good thing about working out is that it boosts energy levels, clears the mind, increases blood flow, and gets you off your butt and moving. All this will make you more productive when you go back to work.

So unplug and exercise. You will be glad you did!

(And I am unplugging, too! Time for weights!)
